Last week Juju rang the bell and officially won her cancer battle after 2+ years! We were surrounded by so much love. It was absolutely magical.
Thank you Cars 4 Cause for capturing this amazing day for us! Thank you to our friends and family for being here every step of the way and especially on our best day ever. Thank you Terrence for being our rock. This experience has tested us in unimaginable ways. You are such an incredible man and we’re so lucky that you are ours. And the biggest thank you to Juju for showing so many how to be strong, resilient, kind and how important the power connection is. She is so special and I’m so happy everyone gets the chance to experience her.
I thought this day would never come! 3/27/26 is now the 2nd greatest day of my life. The number 1 spot will always be the day my Juju was born 12/2/18. The last few days have been very emotional for our family. I thought I would be so happy and don’t get me wrong, I am, but it’s hard to forget everything we’ve been through. How sick Julia was leading up to diagnosis, hearing the words that my daughter had cancer, the thought that she wouldn’t be here, watching my girl get chemotherapy for the first time and every time after, losing her hair, having feeding tubes placed, watching as they put needles into her spine, her fear for what was to come, having to watch and hold her down to do things that hurt her because that’s what needed to happen to save her, watching her go under anesthesia too many times, her not being to walk confidently or get up from the floor on her own, being so weak and in pain that she would just lay on the couch most days, watching how depressed she was from being isolated. Despite the nightmare we have made some amazing memories on this journey. Dance parties in our living room, movie night slumber parties, in patient “sleep overs” at the hospital, pranking and scaring her care team…constantly, the amazing community we have built along the way, her being honored on the @philaunion field because of @kissesforkyle , our @chiovillanova and @novadance family, her @makeawishphl Disney world trip, princess makeover and photoshoot with @glimmerofhopefdn and @livelifelikelois , watching her entire school support and cheer her on every step of the way , going backstage on Broadway all because of @broadwayhearts , a police escort @udpolice home from the bell and so so soo much more! I absolutely hate what we had to endure but the outlook we have on life now, the lifelong friendships and our strengthened family bond wouldn’t have happened without this experience. I am so proud of my girl! I can’t wait to watch her live the life she deserves – Grace (Julia’s mother)
